Starting in the 1920s, as a popular site for vacationing industrialists, home of Millionaire's Row and Morris Lapidus architecture, Mid-Beach is the home of grand hotels and a culturally rich small neighborhood in comparison to South Beach, however, it is the area you were likely to run across Frank Sinatra or... a martini shaken, not stirred. Though there are many, the most notable Mid-Beach filming locations occurred in and around the luxurious Fontainebleau Miami Hotel. The hotel was the favorite hang-out of Frank Sinatra, serving as the backdrop of his 1960 television special in which he welcomed Elvis back from the war. That same year, Jerry Lewis’s classic comedy The Bellboy was filmed almost solely on the premises, where Lewis would film by day and perform in the nightclub by night. The hotel was also the site of what is perhaps the most iconic crime scene in movie history, the golden-painted Bond Girl in 1964’s Goldfinger, the pool scenes from 1983's Scarface and innumerable crucial scenes from 1992's The Bodyguard.
