Mayor Matti Herrera Bower creates the Transparency, Reliability and Accountability Committee (TRAC) to evaluate the transparency of current policies and procedures within the administration of the City of Miami Beach The Transparency, Reliability and Accountability Committee (TRAC) has been established to examine the city's current policies and procedures in terms of transparency, accountability and the ease of the public's access to information. The purpose of TRAC shall be to review the City's systems of internal controls and recommend to the Mayor and Commission measures to enhance transparency, reliability and accountability in the City's governance. Mayor Bower said, "I am appointing Commissioner Weithorn to serve as chair. Commissioner Weithorn, a practicing CPA with distinguished service on State government accountability committees, emphasized transparency, open government, responsiveness to residents and neighborhood interests, and accountability in her recent campaign for Office of the Commission."Commissioner Weithorn stated, “I want this committee to achieve accountability without attitude. There is nothing more sacred that the trust between the people and their government. No where is this more evident that on the local level. I want this committee to look at making the words of accountability, transparency and reliability turn into actions.
