The Miami Beach Festival of the Arts has evolved from a local street show to one of the most prestigious cultural arts festivals on the East Coast. This signature community event for residents and visitors of the City of Miami Beach showcases the artwork of 150 artists from across the nation on exhibit with their paintings, sculpture, glass, ceramics, jewelry, and photographs. The artwork is juried and prestigious cash prizes are awarded. Proceeds collected year round from local Patrons of the Arts generate pre-sale coupons used to purchase artwork at the event.
This nationally recognized event brings over 40,000 visitors to Ocean Terrace to browse amongst the fine art on exhibit while enjoying the cultural and performing arts. Ocean Terrace is positioned between the open sea, the commercial district, and the Community Center. This magnificent site offers an open-air band shell, Activity Center, and Beach Bowl with on-going music, dance, theatre, arts & crafts, storytelling, and international cuisine throughout the event for children of all ages.
This year, the City of Miami Beach has contracted with Howard Alan Events to produce the festival. Information on the 2011 festival can be found at the following link.
