OFFICE OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (CIP)
In early 2001, Miami Beach embarked on one of the most ambitious capital improvement programs in its history. This program of “Planned Progress” rebuilds streets, upgrades infrastructure such as drainage systems and water lines, renovates and rebuilds many City assets and builds new facilities for parks and entertainment venues. CIP is also involved in building state-of-the-art facilities for public safety and manages the construction of parking garages, including some of the most notable structures designed by “starchitects.” Planned Progress touches nearly every neighborhood and provides for improvements that in one way or another affects every resident and business in the community.
