PROBATIONARY AND PART TIME EMPLOYEES
Full-time, general probationary employees, contribute to Social Security at a rate of 6.5% of their salary while the city contributes 6.5% of their salary for the duration of the employee's probationary period. Once an employee completes the probationary period, they must select one of the pension options outlined above.
Part time and temporary employees participate in the 457 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. These employees contributed 7.5% and the City contributed 2.5% of the employee's salary.
