Mr. Smith, a Miami Beach resident since 1961, became City Attorney for Miami Beach in April, 2006. He was a member of the Miami Beach City Commission from 1997 to 2005, gaining extensive experience in municipal, administrative, land use, and constitutional law. As Commissioner, he also chaired the City Attorney's Oversight Committee.
Prior to becoming City Attorney, Mr. Smith was the Senior Partner of Smith & Supraski, P.A., North Miami Beach, Florida (1983-2006), where he practiced General Civil Litigation; Construction, Real Estate and Commercial litigation; Land development and Condominium Law; Landlord-Tenant Law; and Lender litigation. Mr. Smith has extensive trial and appellate experience at all levels of the judiciary. Previously, Mr. Smith was a partner in Feldman, Abramson, Smith, Magidson & Levy, P.A. (1978-1983) where his practice concentrated on Personal Injury & Wrongful Death; Medical Malpractice; Insurance and General Litigation; Appellate Practice; and Worker's Compensation.
