The City of Miami Beach is a unique urban travel destination that includes many natural gems.  These natural resources include; waterways, sand dunes, mangroves, reefs, 26 parks and green spaces, and just over 7 miles of white, sandy beaches.  Miami Beach is also a natural nesting habitat for endangered sea turtles, butterflies, and is home to several endangered plant species.

The focus of eco-tourism is to provide an educational, ecologically and culturally sensitive travel experience that has a minimal impact on the surrounding environment while also benefiting the local community.  Activities that eco-tourists can partake in Miami Beach include fishing, biking, bird watching, boating, kayaking, swimming, surfing, photography, and historical touring.
