The Urban Forestry Section manages the citywide urban forest by conducting the following activities; ongoing street tree inventory, regulatory oversight of the tree ordinance, expert assessment of hazardous trees, tree hazard mitigation actions, staff level arboriculture training, liaison to the Tree Board (when formed), future Tree City USA program oversight, citywide tree selection/installation plan review, street tree grant program management, Community Outreach/workshops, exotic tree removal projects, Arbor Day hosting, tree giveaways programs, school outreach.
