VOLUNTEER NETWORK
Join the Hands on Miami Beach Team– The City's Volunteer Network, a program that supports and promotes volunteerism throughout the city.
The City of Miami Beach launched its Volunteer Network during Civic Participation Week in September 2002, which honors the courageous spirit of the American people, and pays tribute to the heroes and lives lost on September 11, 2001. City Manager Jorge M. Gonzalez wants residents to understand how important civic involvement is to the democratic process to which we have pledged.
The Volunteer Network is a comprehensive volunteer service program that will encourage public participation, further enhance a sense of community and utilize volunteers in their skilled or interest areas. There are several capacities where volunteers are needed. Volunteers can participate in neighborhood clean-ups, the school system and health care institutions just to name a few.
The Volunteer Network recruits, places and recognizes citizen and employee volunteers that assist in various city projects and at special events. It is a way to give back to the community that you live in and, for some, to earn valuable community service hours.
