How do I qualify for a Hybrid Permit?

The Miami Beach City Commission approved a year-long pilot program that provides parking perks to hybrid owners. Starting January 2008, city residents who own a hybrid vehicle can get a 50 percent discount on residential decals. In addition, a limited amount of citywide decals (250) will be available for $100 per year. These permits are honor at metered areas only (on street and parking lots). Hybrid owners who reside outside of the city can get a 50 percent discount on the monthly parking permits at city garages and lots. Finally, under the program, one percent of spaces at the 42nd Street garage would be assigned for hybrid vehicles only.

Note: All Hybrid Citywide permits expire yearly at the end of January. 

Required Documents:

• Identification
• Vehicle Registration
• Utility bill (gas, cable, phone, FPL); bank statement; or credit card statement dated within the last 30 days. (excluding monthly parking permits)
• HOV Registration Certificate 

Note: The county and/or private tag agency shall issue a decal and registration certificate to be renewed annually, reflecting the HOV lane designation on such vehicles authorizing such use. The county and/or private tag agency may charge a $5 fee for a decal.
