• Gulf Oil Spill | Deepwater Horizon

Our beautiful beaches remain open to the public. At the present time, the oil spill in the Gulf has not been projected to impact South Florida or Miami Beach. We are currently monitoring the situation with our local, state and federal partners and have a response plan in place to address a range of different possibilities, if necessary.

If the situation changes, we will update this page with new information and any action plans that may be important to our residents, businesses and visitors.

The City of Miami Beach will be the lead entity coordinating efforts to recruit volunteers to assist the city should there be any impacts of the oil spill on our beaches. However, no volunteers will be used for any oil clean-up. For information on volunteering, click here.
