• Miami Beach Holds Art & Essay Contest for Teens
    The Sister Cities International Sponsored Theme is the Power of Exchange

    Miami Beach, FL –  Miami Beach Sister Cities International is sponsoring a Young Artist/Young Author competition. If you are between the ages of 13-18 and are passionate about art or writing, this competition is a great way to showcase your talent. The theme for both contests is The Power of Exchange (see submission guidelines below). The deadline for submitting work to Miami Beach is Friday, March 22, 2013. 

    One winner will be selected in each category ($100) and will be entered into the international competition for a chance to receive $1,000 cash.

    Artwork Specifications:
    Two dimensional, all media accepted
    Use of copyrighted of trademarked images prohibited
    Entries must not be plagiarized, stolen, or invade the rights of any person
    Must be supported by matting if possible, not framed
    Writing:
    Categories: Essay or Poetry
    Essays must be no more than 500 words, poetry no more than 25 lines
    Entries must be in English
    Will be evaluated based on theme interpretation, composition, and grammar
    Must submit hard copy or digital copy
    All work must be original and inspired by the theme and may not be plagiarized, stolen, or copied.
    Eligibility:
    Must be between 13 and 18 years of age,
    Miami Beach resident or student attending school on Miami Beach
    One entry per participant
