In 2009, Mayor Matti Bower was inspired to create the first Miami Beach Women's Conference, aimed at bringing together women from every walk of life in Miami Beach and beyond. With the incredible volunteer work of the Miami Beach Commission for Women and (and many others), hundreds of women come together to educate and inspire each other.  

The 2012 conference, scheduled for March 16 at Miami Beach City Hall, features State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Commissioner Sally Heyman, LAMBDA attorney Beth Littrell, state Sen. Gwen Margolis, Hon. Elaine Bloom and Hon. Katy Sorenson, with a special appearance by Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen at the ever-popular Botanical Gardens lunch catered by women chefs.
